Anup Akkihal, CEO

Anup is a systems engineer with over 14 years of experience in supply chain strategy across a range of industries – including heavy manufacturing, consumer goods, defense, retail and healthcare.  He has enjoyed the privilege of designing and implementing field/tactical logistics systems for the United States Army, managing SAP enterprise software projects, and advising USAID, WHO, UNFPA and World Bank through John Snow Incorporated on supply chain and technology matters.  His work has spanned North America, Europe, Africa and Asia.  Anup earned degrees from the Johns Hopkins University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Arun Ramanujapuram, CTO

Arun started his career at Xerox Research in technology development in the area of Digital Rights Management and moved into a role that takes technologies to business. This culminated in a joint spin‐off between Xerox and Microsoft. Around the same time, he joined a California-based start-up focused on Enterprise Information Integration. He has subsequently worked at Yahoo! India, first as a product manager on Communities products, and later incubating an Advanced Technology Group that built technology & products for Web Search (which eventually became Y! Labs) and has more recently worked on Internet Advertising products. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Bangalore University and a Masters Degree in Computer Science from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada.

Ryan McWhorter, CFO

Ryan has worked in supply chain technology for over ten years turning novel concepts into practical solutions. Before Logistimo, Ryan worked at GT Nexus as Director of Professional Services and as Product Manager focusing on international supply chain visibility and operations of Fortune 100 companies.  Prior to GT Nexus, Ryan was a Product Manager with i2 Technologies and a Technical Advisor to USAID on last-mile supply chain innovations.  Ryan has been a track chair for the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals Conference focusing on private sector applications to public sector logistics, and has presented at SOCAP and ICT4D conferences covering mobile-phone based supply chain management.  Ryan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics (Baylor), a Master’s degree in Physics (Brown) and a Master’s degree in Logistics (MIT).

Sharath Chandangoudar, VP Business Development

Sharath brings with him a finance background with experience in both mainstream and social investment banking. At State Street Bank, he developed an interest in bridging the gap between capital markets and the social enterprises, which led to his work with Unitus Capital specializing in arranging capital for microfinance institutions and other social enterprises benefiting those at the Base of the Pyramid. He has since consulted social enterprises on business development, and upon joining Logistimo, coordinated the field research effort that laid the foundation for our design and engineering efforts.

Amit Akkihal, VP Strategic Initiatives

Amit is a polymath bringing a broad and tempered strategic perspective, balancing the strengths of a team heavily weighted in engineering and science.  He has guided our strategic posture from the onset, played boots-on-the-ground roles in the villages, and has nurtured late-adoption sector growth.
