UGANDA GAVI vLMD
Immunization supply chain
Optimizing program through forecasting, inventory management and route optimization
FIT (Freight in time) Uganda and UPS via GAVI, Global Alliance For Vaccine and Immunization.
Uganda’s public health system used paper-based forms for supply chain operations. This provided little visibility into the dispersed health network and hence no way to prevent stock outs. Uncertainty in last-mile transport forced health workers to pick-up vaccine stock from upstream warehouses in cold-boxes. This increased the risk to vaccine potency and made the replenishment process highly inefficient.
Logistimo’s entire product suite - supply chain, cold chain & transport management - has been deployed in Uganda for end-to-end management of health commodities.
Since the introduction of Logistimo, warehouse managers have been able to streamline replenishment cycles and reduce costs. Scheduling and optimization of delivery routes in tandem with order cycles has ushered in operational efficiency.
